    Mary Ann, daughter of Joseph and Matilda (Hansen) Heller was born on February 12, 1931, at Carroll, Iowa. She attended Sts. Peter and Paul School and St. Angela’s Academy, graduating in 1948. Mary Ann later received her LPN training from the Antonian School of Practical Nursing in Carroll.

    On June 26, 1950, she was united in marriage with Marvin D. Lane at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Carroll. A son, Dick, was born to this union and the family made their home in Carroll. There, Mary Ann worked as an LPN at St. Anthony Hospital until her retirement in 1979.

    Mary Ann was a member of St. Lawrence Church and the Ladies Guild. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling, watching the Chicago Cubs, and above all spending time with her grandchildren.

    After the death of Marvin in 1975, Mary Ann remained in Carroll.  In December of 2008, Mary Ann became ill and in early 2009 she moved to Arbor Springs Care Center in West Des Moines.  She died there on April 16, 2009, at the age of 78 years, 2 months, and 4 days.

    Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Joseph Jr. “Geneâ€? Heller and Ronald Heller.

    She is survived by her son Dick Lane and wife Theresa of West Des Moines; grandchildren Monica Lane of Des Moines; Elizabeth Lane-Harvard and husband Chris of Sioux Falls, SD and Matthew of West Des Moines; sisters Louise Hupp of Scranton and Donna Rae Joseph of Rock Island, IL; brothers Bill Heller and wife Carol of Carroll and Robert Heller of Marshalltown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
