Frank Testroet
May 23, 1913 - January 19, 2010
Frank H. Testroet, son of Theodore and Sophia (Schornagel) Testroet, was born May 23, 1913 near Halbur, Iowa. He attended his schooling at St. Augustine in Halbur.
On February 14, 1939 Frank was united in marriage with Dorothy Greteman at St. Augustine Church in Halbur. The couple farmed near Halbur until their retirement in 1976. In 1978 they moved to their home in Carroll. Frank was a member of St. Lawrence Parish and the Knights of Columbus.
After Dorothy’s death in 2003, Frank remained in Carroll until 2007, when he moved to Immanuel Fontenelle in Omaha, Nebraska. On January 19, 2010 Frank died there at the age of 96.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy, 2 granddaughters, 3 sisters: Mary, Ann and Bertha and 6 brothers: Joe, Henry, John, William, Joe, and Ted.
Survivors include six daughters and sons-in-law: Susan and Gary Christensen of San Antonio TX, Judy and Jerry Hughes of Omaha NE, Helen and Michael Ouellette of Cambridge MA, Laura and Steve Hofbauer of Hermiston OR, Alice and Tom Peterson of Des Moines IA, and Mary and David Classen of Kearney NE. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
