Marie Anna, daughter of Julius and Meta (Klevemann) Rostermundt, was born August 23, 1912, at Lyons, Nebraska. As a young girl the family moved to Nance County, NE. The family moved to Manning, Iowa where Marie started ninth grade. Following her schooling, Marie worked at various places in Manning including Priebe’s Hatchery and the Klean Klose Shop. On November 22, 1956, Marie was united in marriage with Fred Nulle. She retired at that time. Marie and Fred lived on the Nulle farm for over 20 years, moving into town in 1974. During those years, they spent time in the winter in Arizona. Fred died in 1992 and Marie remained in their home several years before moving into the Terrace Apartments. Marie was baptized in Burt County, Nebraska on October 20, 1912 and confirmed April 1, 1927 in Manning by Pastor Ansorge at the Zion Lutheran Church. She remained a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, as well as, Lutheran Ladies Guild and Lutheran Layman’s League. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She and Marge Stahl took care of the fire department and ambulance laundry for many years. Marie enjoyed dancing, bowling and playing cards. When Marie could no longer live alone she became a resident of the Manning Plaza Nursing Home where she died on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the age of 97 years, 5 months and 3 days. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; granddaughter Marla A Rostermundt; siblings John Rostermundt, Elsie Mohr, Viola Gudykunst, Carl Rostermundt and Freda Schwanz Koenck; and step daughter Catherine Dieber. She is survived by her son Merlin Rostermundt and wife Marilyn of Ireton, IA; three step-children: Joyce Eschenbacher of Florida; Fred Jr. Nulle and wife Virginia of Webster City and Janet and husband Leo Dowlin of Barnard, KS; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; numerous step-great-grandchildren; brother Leo Rostermundt and wife Elizabeth of Denver, CO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
