Albert Sturm

June 23, 1924 — September 7, 2013

Albert Michael, son of Wolfgang and Frances (Hacker) Sturm, was born June 23, 1924 on a farm near Roselle, Iowa. He lived with his family near Roselle for a year and then the family moved to a farm southeast of Templeton. Albert attended school in Templeton and then started farming with his father. On September 1, 1948 Albert was united in marriage with Ardith Ann Bluml at St. Augustine Church in Halbur, Iowa. They were the parents of seven children. They farmed and raised their family near Templeton and then farmed Northwest of Manning for 54 years. Albert and Ardith lived in Manning after retiring. In addition to farming, Albert worked at M&I Dehy for 10 years and operated Sturm's Corn Shelling. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, dancing and watching WWF Wrestling on television. Above all he was devoted to his children and their families. Albert was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Parish in Manning and the Knights of Columbus. He died at home surrounded by his family September 7, 2013 at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 15 days.
