Andrew William, son of Raymond and Donna (Frailing) Holdsworth, was born November 29, 1959, in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up in Manilla and attended Manilla Community School with the Class of 1979. Andrew then completed the Culinary Foods program at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs.

Andrew’s lifelong work was in food preparation. He first worked in restaurants in Denison and then at Deb’s Corner Café in Manning. In 1989, he started working at Casey’s in Manning and shortly thereafter moved to Audubon and continued his work at Casey’s there. Andrew was proud of his longevity with Casey’s. Due to his illness, he retired just short of his 30th anniversary.

Andrew was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed watching old movies in black and white, Christmas specials, musicals, traveling and collecting bears.

On Tuesday, May 7, 2019, Andrew passed away at The Rehabilitation Center of Des Moines in Des Moines, Iowa. He was 59 years, 5 months and 8 days of age.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father Raymond Holdsworth; Uncles: Harold (Yvonne) Holdsworth and Robert (Lois) Holdsworth; and Aunts Darlene Johnson and Dorothy (Bill) Ballantine.

Andy is survived by his mother Donna Holdsworth of Manilla; three siblings: Jerry Holdsworth of Las Vegas, NV; Susan and husband Donald Ballantine of Vail; and Mark Holdsworth and wife Jan of Manilla; nieces and nephews: Adam Holdsworth; Kyle (Elen) Holdsworth, Aaron Holdsworth and Kiley (Cole) Blair; and Ian (Keli) Ballantine, Taylor Hatfield and Piper Ballantine; two great-nephews: Liam Ballantine and Maximus Holdsworth; and uncle Larry Johnson of Broken Arrow, OK; cousins and other relatives.
