Barbara Neal Nielsen

Barbara Neal Nielsen born January 3, 1933, the oldest of 4 children, passed away on December 29, 2013 in Wichita, Ks. Barbara was the daughter of Wilbur and Velma Neal. She graduated from North High School Wichita in 1950. In 1960, she married the love of her life Norman Nielsen in San Diego, California. Barbara retired after 30 years from Hartford Insurance Company. In 2005, she and Norman moved to Kimballton, Iowa where later Norman passed away and where Barbara will be laid to rest at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. She loved cooking, crocheting, dancing, traveling and taking care of stray animals (her latest is Marie). She is survived by her youngest brother Dennis Neal, his wife Carole, sister-in-laws Millie Neal, Myrna Criss and Bonnie Nielsen. She loved having her nieces and nephews around as well as her great nieces and nephews. Her great niece Madison Stratton gave her the opportunity to get to know great-great nephew Trenton these past few months. We will never forget "Aunt BaBa". In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church Harlan, Iowa or your local Humane Society. A Memorial Service was held January 4, 2014 2:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church Chapel, Harlan, Iowa.
