Beulah Mildred Crocker

February 16, 1920 — January 31, 2013

Beulah Mildred, daughter of Jess and Ida (Sother) Williams, was born February 16, 1920 in Nemaha, Iowa. As a child she moved with her family to Aurelia where she attended school and graduated from high school in 1938. After completing her education, Beulah moved to Cherokee where she had a variety of jobs, including office work at the Cherokee Clinic and admitting office work at the Sioux Valley Hospital. She thoroughly enjoyed her work in the healthcare field, retiring in 1991. She was also a wonderful seamstress, sewing for family and friends. In the local drapery shop she made beautiful drapes and bedspreads. On August 31, 1940, Beulah was united in marriage with Delbert Crocker. They made their home in Cherokee the rest of their married life and were the parents of one daughter Rhonda. Beulah was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a Girl Scout leader for many years. She and Delbert enjoyed traveling, making it to all states except Alaska. They also visited Canada and Mexico. Above all they enjoyed their grandchildren making it to many school and sporting events as well as dance recitals. After their retirements, they were residents of Countryside Estates in Cherokee. Delbert died while they were living there in 2009 just a week prior to their 69th wedding anniversary. Shortly after her husband's death Beulah moved to the Manilla Manor Nursing Home in Manilla to be nearer her daughter. She enjoyed good health and contentment while living at the Manor. She became ill early in January and her health continued to fail. She died there on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the age of 92 years, 11months and 16 days. Beulah was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers Melvin, Harry and Jim Williams and son in law Dennis Christensen. She is survived by her daughter Rhonda Christensen of Manilla; two grandchildren Chad (Dawn) Christensen of Grimes and Beth (Jeremy) Lyddon of Grimes; five great grandchildren Katie, Mya and Sam Christensen and Addison and Grayson Lyddon; sister in law Frances Williams Bleile of Colorado Springs, CO and other relatives and friends. Beulah died Thursday morning at the Manilla Manor Nursing Home. Service and Interment will be at a later date.
