Beverly Ann, daughter of William I. Sr. and Henry Adelaide (Chiles) Barden, was born October 14, 1933, at Richmond, Virginia.  She grew up in Highland Springs, VA, and graduated from Highland Springs High School in 1952. Beverly then attended Madison College where she was a member of the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority and graduated in 1956 with a degree in home economics and teaching. She was then employed as a home economist for Virginia Electric Power Company and later for the Virginia extension service.

On May 20, 1961, Beverly was united in marriage with Charles Dale Miksch at Highland Springs. Three sons were born into this union. They made their first home in Hutchinson, KS where Beverly worked as a home economist for the Kansas extension service until the birth of their first son. She then became a fulltime mother and homemaker. The family then moved to Grand Island, NE, and then to Garden City, KS, before finally settling to Coon Rapids, IA in 1968.

Beverly was always active in the United Methodist Church, UMW, the local TTT organization and on many local boards and committees. She was also very active for many years in the AFS cultural student exchange program hosting students from Thailand, Argentina, Norway and New Zealand and counseling students from other countries attending school in the U.S. and American students studying abroad. The other great love in her life was her job as a Mary Kay consultant.  She enjoyed the time spent with her customers and other consultants.  Beverly and Dale traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and foreign countries.

In November 2006, Beverly was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and as her health deteriorated she became a resident of the Thomas Rest Haven nursing home in Coon Rapids, Iowa.  She died there on May 17, 2007, at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 3 days.

Preceding Beverly in death are her parents; two brothers Joseph and William I. Barden Jr.; and father and mother-in-law Forrest E. and Ruth Miksch.

Beverly is survived by her husband Dale Miksch of Coon Rapids; three sons: Scott Miksch and wife Jean of Eugene, OR; Gary Miksch and wife Lori of West Des Moines; and Jeff Miksch and wife Jill of Le Mars; eight grandchildren: Emma Rose, Ryan, Tessa Rose, Joshua, Sarah, Andrew, Christopher and Charlie Miksch; two brothers Manley Barden and wife Joanne of Sandston, VA and Jim Barden and wife Tina of Maiden, VA; sister Sue and husband Richard Goode of Richmond, VA; three sisters-in-law: Anita B. and husband David Hamilton of Poquoson, VA; Delores Morarity of Jefferson City, MO; and Darlene Sinclair of Oswego, KS; brother-in-law Duane Miksch and wife Pat of Princeton, KY; other relatives and many friends.
