Clara Anthofer

Clara Gertrude, daughter of George and Alice (Skalla) Anthofer, was born June 13, 1933, in Carroll County, Iowa. She grew up in Coon Rapids. Since 1977 Clara has lived at New Hope Village in Carroll, group homes and at Mallard View. In December of 2014, she became a resident of Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids.

Clara had a good memory and was a jokester. She enjoyed dogs, flowers, little babies, eating chicken and apple pie.

On Friday, April 17, 2020, Clara peacefully passed away at Park View Assisted Living in Coon Rapids, Iowa. She was 86 years of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Alice Anthofer; four brothers: Leonard, Joe(Lois), Ed and Ronnie Anthofer; a sister Bernie Reiling; and two brothers-in-law Ray Rieling and Jack Scott.    

Clara is survived by siblings: Teresa (Allan) Linscheid of Mesa, AZ;  Betty (George) Hatton of Brooklyn Park, MN; Irene Scott of Coon Rapids, IA; Joyce (Ken) Schmidt of Juneau, WI; Albert (LaVonne) Anthofer of Carroll, IA; two sisters-in-law Rita Anthofer of Coon Rapids and Bonnie Anthofer of Carroll; several nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held for Clara with burial in the Coon Rapids Cemetery.
