Dorothy Hansen

Dorothy (Lange) Marchellino Hansen, formerly of Kimballton, passed away Friday, January 26th, 2024, at Altoona Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by her family. She was 92 years old. Her interment and graveside service will be Saturday, May 25th at 1:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery near Kimballton, Iowa. Ohde Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Financial memorials may be directed to the Bethany Lutheran Church cemetery fund.

Dorothy was born to Dagmar (Mortensen) and L. Peter Lange on December 6, 1931. In addition to being a wife and mother, Dorothy held several positions during her working life. She worked as a homemaker health aide, a meat packer, an office manager, and after retirement, as a senior aid at Iowa Workforce Development. Dorothy loved to dance and attended dances as long as she was physically able to do so. She also loved to embroider, and many of her family and friends have received embroidered tablecloths and pillowcases over the years. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her 10 siblings; her husband F. J. Marchellino; her sons James Marchellino and Tony Marchellino; and her grandchildren: Raym, Cathryn, and Jami. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Dale Marchellino; her daughter Keri Holmes Rojas (Efrain); grandsons: Austin Stone (Nikki), Noah Allison (Kerri); a granddaughter Megan Bruneau (Daniel); and several great grandchildren.
