Dorothy Ann, daughter of Delos and Fannie (Trucks) Lambert, was born September 16, 1934 in Coon Rapids, Iowa.  She was the youngest of four daughters born to this union.  Dorothy attended grade school and high school in Coon Rapids.

On November 19, 1961, she was united in marriage with Darwin Lile at the First Christian Church in Coon Rapids.  Dorothy worked as a cook for several different restaurants in the Carroll and Coon Rapids area and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Coon Rapids. After the death of her husband Darwin in 1996, Dorothy moved to Omaha in 1998 to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law and family.  She loved to be in her garden.  She and Darwin had a large vegetable and flower garden that they tended to daily.  Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and loved making new friends.  She was an avid reader and had a special place in her heart for animals.

Dorothy’s health began to decline in 2013.  She became a resident at Rose Blumpkin Home in March of 2016.  She died there on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 3 days.

Preceding her in death are her parents Delos and Fannie; husband Darwin Lile in 1996 and sisters Betty Benton, Pauline Bauer and Mamie Spoo.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Lori and her husband Steven Stangl of Omaha, NE and son Terry Lile; grandchildren Nick Stangl and wife Lisa of San Ramon, CA and Kara Stangl of Omaha, NE; great granddaughters Grace Stangl and Anna Stangl of San Ramon, CA.
