Eileen Prebeck

October 23, 1952 — October 21, 2025

Templeton

Eileen Leonora Rose Naberhaus Prebeck, daughter of Wilfred and Philomena Elizabeth (Woerdehoff) Naberhaus, was born on October 23, 1952, in Carroll, Iowa. She attended St. Augustine Grade School in Halbur through the eighth grade and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1970. Eileen then went on to attend La James Beauty School in Ames, where she studied cosmetology for two years.

Eileen met the love of her life, EuGene Prebeck, at a CYO dance at St. Lawrence School in Carroll. The couple was united in marriage on January 13, 1973, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Templeton, and they made their home in Templeton. They were blessed with two daughters, Amanda and Kindra.

Eileen owned and operated Le Boutique in Manning for many years before selling the business. She later began working in the Food and Nutrition Department at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, where she proudly received her 20-year service pin in 2017 before retiring in December of 2018.

Over the years, Eileen had many interests and hobbies that brought her joy throughout her life. In her younger years, she and Gene enjoyed camping with friends. She had a special love for flowers and took great pride in tending her gardens. She enjoyed watching Bob Ross paint, dressing up for Halloween and handing out candy, and collecting delicate blown-glass figurines. Eileen also loved reading, doing crossword and Sudoku puzzles, sewing, and playing cards with her grandchildren and friends. In her later years, she enjoyed peaceful golf cart rides around town. Above all, she treasured attending every sporting event, concert, and activity her daughters and grandchildren participated in—never missing an opportunity to cheer them on. She also loved supporting her husband by attending gigs for “Aged Spirits,” the band he is a member of.

Eileen passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at her home in Templeton on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, having attained the age of 72. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Philomena Naberhaus; sisters, Karen Olberding and Jean Ann Naberhaus; brother, Denny Naberhaus; and brothers-in-law, Bill Jordan, Joseph Prebeck, and Dan Prebeck.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gene Prebeck of Templeton; daughters, Amanda (Bob) Wenninger of Audubon and Kindra Prebeck (Robbie) of Templeton; four grandchildren: Madison, MaKenna, Mason, and Brecken; siblings, Shirley Jordan of Manchester, NH, LaVonne “Bonnie” (Paul) Sporrer of Dedham, Leon “Barney” (Cindy) Naberhaus of Carroll, and Sandy (Kevin) Wittrock of Lake View, MN; sister-in-law, Pat Naberhaus of Midland, MI; brothers-in-law, David (Kathy) Prebeck of Fort Dodge, Dale Prebeck of Templeton, Bill (Karen) Prebeck of Templeton, and Randy (JoAnna) Prebeck of Johnston; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
