                        My Daddy

Unconditional love defines my father. He knew no stranger and always treated everyone he met as family. He lived by the theory God made everyone and each person is beautiful, its up to you to take the time to look for that beauty.?

His love for his family knew no boundaries. He lived for his wife, kids and grandkids, always placing our needs and desires above his own. No matter what situation arose in our lives, good or bad, Dad was always our calm in the storm.

We are thankful he is with his Lord and Savior and feels no more pain, but in his absence is an irreplaceable void. We will forever miss your loving hugs, pats on the back to remind us of your bountiful pride, that proud smile when you looked upon your beautiful grandkids, your voice calling out, Mama?, Hi Son?  and Sissy, hows my baby girl??.

Our hearts ache for you, we will never let go. We will keep you in our hearts always. Your memory will carry on through your kids, grandkids and those your life has touched.

Love You Daddy, Your Baby Girl

Elise Tolu Muaau, son of Muaau Aulava and Toluselau Sapakuku Aulava was born December 17, 1940, in American Samoa. He attended school in Samoa until moving to Hawaii to live with his uncle. E.T. enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1961. When he was transferred to California, he met Agnes Rosalie Kepple, also serving in the Marine Corps. They were united in marriage on March 11, 1966, at San Diego, CA. Three children were born to this union. The family lived in Hawaii and California. When E.T. was stationed in Okinawa, he was sent to Vietnam where he was exposed to Agent Orange.

After 30 years in the Marine Corps, E.T. retired in January of 1991 as Master Gunnery Sergeant. He then worked in the Civil Service for 15 years. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal on January 22, 1991 for Meritorious Service. He had been promoted two ranks by meritorious awards. E.T. was an avid golfer and enjoyed meeting people " he never knew a stranger. E.T. had been a faithful Christian since 1967 when he found his love for the Lord.

Ever since his exposure to Agent Orange, E.T. suffered many health problems. When he and Rose retired, they moved to Bayard, Iowa, to be nearer her family and to get away from the hustle and bustle of California. As his health deteriorated, he was lovingly cared for at home by his wife and daughter. When they were no longer able to care for him, E.T. eventually became a resident of Mercy Hospice in Johnston where he was lovingly cared for until his death on Monday, May 21, 2007, at the age of 66 years, 5 months and 4 days.

Preceding E.T. in death are his parents; sister Pulemau Aulava and brother Maugasolo Aulava.
