Evor C. Lloyd, son of Stephen and Gertrude (Fretwell) Lloyd, was born on August 27, 1914, on a farm near Dedham, Iowa. Evor grew up on a farm near Carrollton and attended school in Carrollton. Evor served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After returning to Iowa, he was united in marriage with Hazel Hicks on March 14, 1943 at Churdan, Iowa. Evor was employed by the International and John Deere Farm Implement Companies as a mechanic until his retirement. Evor was a member of the United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids. He was an avid collector of clocks, accumulating many vintage as well as newer styles of clocks. Evor moved to Carroll in 2001, residing at Orchard View and Swan House. When his health began to fail, he became a resident of Bayard Nursing and Rehab where he died on Thursday, November 23, 2006, at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 25 days. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife Hazel Lloyd; brothers Ernie, Earl, Ralph, Oscar, Ray and Dale Lloyd and sisters Annie Hessler, Alice Coykendall and Ruby Gruber. Evor is survived by his daughter Karen and husband Tony Luick of Longwood, FL; son John Lloyd and wife Leah of Austin, TX; grandchildren Jennifer, Lydia, Jordan and Logan of Austin, TX, and Kelly and David of Florida; four great-grandchildren; brother Lynn Lloyd of Manning, IA; and many other relatives and friends.

Burial will be in the Union Township Cemetery, Coon Rapids, IA. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
