February 20, 1930 — November 27, 2018

George Kendal, son of George D. and Mildred Frances (McKeighan) Esdohr,  was born February 20, 1930, in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up in Coon Rapids and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1947.
From 1951 to 1953, George served with the United States Army, one year of which was in Korea. Upon being discharged, George returned to Coon Rapids.
On May 11, 1954, George was united in marriage with Luella Emma Beyerink in Carroll. Six children were born to this union. George worked mostly in the construction business and first worked in Sheldon before returning to Coon Rapids where he was employed with Buchanan and Alex. He started Esdohr Construction in 1970 doing sealcoating. In 1995 he sold this business and retired, but continued working with the new company until he retired again in 2017. George cherished the acquaintances and relationships he made with the many customers he worked with throughout the years.
George was a member of the Gurney Parker Post #357 of the American Legion in Coon Rapids. Throughout the years, George served on the Coon Rapids School Board and Coon Rapids Golf Course Board. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, scorekeeping for basketball games, playing cribbage, gardening, tending his fruit trees, and taking fishing trips to Minnesota. Above all, George loved his family.
On Tuesday, November 27, 2018, George passed away at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa. He was 88 years of age.
