Glen Vestal

Glen Ray Vestal, son of Glen Emil and Barbara (Harris) Vestal, was born on April 10, 1950, in Aurora, Colorado. He attended North High School in Denver. On September 11, 1967, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on September 10, 1970.

Glen married Ella Marie Hobbs, and they were blessed with two sons. The couple later divorced. On November 11, 1984, Glen was united in marriage with Marie Elaine Kent, and together they blended their families. Over the years they made their home in Colorado, Arkansas, and eventually settled in Manning, Iowa. Glen spent his working career as a truck driver, and even after retiring, he continued to drive truck.

Glen loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He also cherished the time he spent with his family.

Glen died on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Thomas Rest Haven Nursing Home in Coon Rapids, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He survived by his wife of 41 years, Marie Vestal of St. Joesph, Missouri; children: Dennice Holloway, Velvet Malone, Lawrence Wilkerson, Glen Ray Vestal Jr., Jeptha Martin Vestal, Regina Angandja; grandchildren: Rebeccah, Ashley, Kyle, Alexis, Zachary, Chasity, Tina, Crystal, Daniel, Jeremiah, Jenavieve, Philip and Maria; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Teddy Martin Vestal; half-sister, Fay Louise Nadeau; and other family members and friends.

A private graveside service with military honors will be held at the Iowa Veteran Cemetery on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
