Jacqueline Mae Badger

   Jacqueline (Jackie) Mae Badger, daughter of Louis and Madeline (Legassey) Tardy, was born March 16, 1934, at Limestone, Maine. Jackie grew up in Limestone and graduated from Limestone High School in 1952. She then worked at a dry-cleaning business at the air force base near Limestone where she met her future husband.

   On February 20, 1953, Jackie was united in marriage to Merle Dean Badger in Canada. A daughter, Merla Dene, was born to this union. The couple lived in Nebraska, California, Maine, Japan, Texas and Maryland. When Merle was honorably discharged after 20 years of service with the Air Force, they moved to Merle’s hometown of Bagley, Iowa. Merle died on October 25, 2000.

  Jackie enjoyed playing cards, shopping at flea markets and garage sales, going to the casinos, dining out, Elvis, Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time with young children and her cat Hawkeye. She was a member of the Jamaica Birthday Club and Bagley Boosters.

   In May of 2023, Jackie moved to Lakeside Village in Panora where she passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 16 days.

   Besides her parents and husband, Jackie was preceded in death by two brothers Darrell Tardy and Leroy Tardy; and three sisters: Jerilyn Tardy in infancy, Marjorie West and Waneta Metivier.

  She is survived by her daughter Merla Badger of Bagley, Iowa; brothers: Larry Tardy and wife Annette of Limestone, Maine and Lyman “Butch” Tardy of Limestone, Maine; sister Wyona “Sissy” Riley and husband Jim of McGregor, Texas; adopted daughter Rose Lulla and husband Andy of Omaha, Nebraska; their children: Amber, Azina, Raj and Ravi; and grandchildren: Alaina, Jadyn, Jared and AJ; good neighbors Earl, Early and Nick Turner; and many friends.

 

The Funeral Service for Jackie Badger was held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at  11:00 a.m. at the Panora Church of the Brethren, Panora, Iowa with Reverend Robert Rogers Officiating.

Music was Recordings by Elvis “Amazing Grace”, “How Great Thou Art” and “The Old Rugged Cross”

Casket Bearers were Jackie’s Family & Friends

Place of Rest at Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Panora, Iowa

Ohde Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
