James M Galloway

Private graveside services will be held for 72 year old James Galloway of Coon Rapids at Union Township Cemetery near Coon Rapids. James Maurice Galloway, son of Maurice and Helen (Thomas) Galloway, was born April 20, 1942 in Carroll, Iowa. He lived with his family in Coon Rapids where he graduated from Coon Rapids High School. After completing his college education at Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville, MO, Jim returned to Coon Rapids. On December 31, 1967 Jim was united in marriage with Kay Russ. They made their home and raised their two sons in Coon Rapids. Jim was a farmer and seed corn dealer. After being diagnosed with lung cancer in August of 2014 he became a resident of Thomas Rest Haven Nursing Home in Coon Rapids where he died on December 30, 2014 at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 10 days. Preceding him in death are his parents and brother Thomas Galloway. Jim is survived by his wife Kay Galloway of Coon Rapids; sons Michael Galloway (Jennifer) and their two daughters Avery and Abigail of Des Moines and Jon Galloway (Cassandra) and their three daughters Presley, Charlotte and Hadley of Des Moines; uncle Harris Hess of Coon Rapids; other relatives and friends.
