Jean, daughter of Hunter and Gladys (Antle) Jacoby was born on July 21, 1928 near Darlington, Missouri. Jean attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from high school in King City, Missouri. She then graduated from Missouri State Teacher's College in Maryville, Missouri. On October 20, 1950 Jean was united in marriage with Robert Hudson in King City. Jean worked as a school teacher in Stanberry and Rosendale, Missouri before moving to Manning, Iowa, where she taught for 27 years. Jean was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manning, the Manning Women's Club and served on the Manning Public Library Board. She enjoyed reading, sewing, computer games and collecting recipes and cookbooks. In 2001 Jean began dialysis. Through the treatments she was often able to drive herself to the appointments. In 2009 she became a resident of the Carroll Health Center Nursing Home. On February 4, 2012 Jean died there suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 83 years 6 months and 14 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert Hudson in 1995. Jean is survived by her daughters Mary "Ging" Hudson of Manning and Barbara Hudson of Urbandale and many friends.
