Jessie Belle, daughter of Walter and Orpha (Parker) Webster was born March 2, 1920, near Manilla, Iowa. She attended country school and Manilla High School, graduating in 1937.  She remained on the farm to help her father due to her mothers death the previous year.

On October 9, 1940, Jessie was united in marriage with Frederick William Saunders in Denison. Three children were born to this union. Jessie and Frederick made their home in Manilla.  In addition to working as a housewife Jessie held a variety of jobs.  She worked as an Avon representative for 16 years and worked at the variety store and grocery store in Manilla.  She retired at age 62.  Jessie was a member of United Church of Manilla and in her spare time enjoyed craft work, puzzles, and watching the Chicago Cubs.

In February of 2007, Jessie moved in to the Manilla Manor as her health continued to fail.  She died there on April 4, 2007, at the age of 87 years, one month, and two days.

Besides her parents and husband, Jessie is preceded in death by son Ray Saunders and son Terry Lynn Saunders, in infancy; brother Claire Webster; and sister Marjorie Strathman.

Jessie is survived by daughter Linda and husband Alan Deiber of Omaha, NE; daughter-in-law Betty (Saunders) and husband Pat Burleson of Fredericksburg, VA; four grandchildren: Jodi and husband Scott Pedersen of Waxhaw, NC; Matthew and wife Cindy Deiber of Omaha, NE; Ray Jr. (Skip) and wife Jen Saunders of Torrance, CA; and Nathan and wife Becky Deiber of Omaha, NE; seven great-grandchildren: Brittani, Tanner, and Casen Pedersen; Benjamin Deiber; Michael and Andy Fahrer; and Summer Saunders; three sisters-in-law: Leora Webster of Des Moines; Beverly Kracht of Denison; Darlene Saunders of Denison; one brother-in-law Stan Kracht of Denison; and many other relatives and friends.
