LaVonne June, daughter of Estel Paul and Bessie June (Ferdig) Clark, was born April 22, 1935, in Onawa, Iowa. She grew up in Onawa and moved to Council Bluffs while in high school.
LaVonne was married to William Poffenbarger. Three children: William Jr., Cyndie and Robert were born to this union. Williams was in the Navy and the family made their home in California before returning to Council Bluffs. This marriage ended.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and was a wonderful seamstress who could also crochet. “Butch,” as many knew her, enjoyed camping, square dancing on roller skates (in her younger years), and anything to do with her kids and grandkids.
