Lowell Lahr

Lowell Allen (Cy), son of Henry and Lucille (Kisling) Lahr was born in Manilla, Iowa, August 29, 1937. Lowell graduated from Manilla High School in 1957. He earned the name of Cy as a young boy and was known by Cy throughout his life. He lived most of his adult life in Omaha, NE, but always remained a loyal Hawkeye fan. He worked at Campbell Soup Company until retirement. The last few years he lived in Council Bluffs. He loved cats, especially his Vidalia, baseball, and playing cards. Lowell was a very simple man who didn't ask for much in life. He loved to do word search puzzles, watch western movies, and read the newspaper every day. Lowell had been in failing health for the last 10 months. He died on April 14, 2013 at the Nebraska Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 16 days. Lowell is preceded in death by his parents; brother Jerome Lahr; sister Mary Lahr, in infancy; and great-nephew Gage King; and his cat Vidalia. He is survived by siblings Gloria (Arden) Hargens of Earling; Kathy (Roger) Meehan of Westside; Diane Lahr of Manilla; John Lahr of Norwalk; Gaylord (Bonnie) Lahr of Westfield; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
