Margaret M. Mckibben

April 13, 1937 — October 5, 2022

Margaret Mary, daughter of Bernard and Mary (Maystadt) Olberding, was born April 13, 1937, in Carroll, Iowa. She was the youngest of 8 children. Margaret attended school in Manilla and graduated from Manilla High School in 1955. She attended nursing school in Council Bluffs and then Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Margaret then enlisted with the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. While in the service, she was united in marriage to Clifford F. McKibben in a military wedding on May 21, 1960. Two sons, Andrew and Matthew, were born to this union. Margaret was stationed in Hawaii, Missouri, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Georgia. While in Texas, she furthered her education at A & M and UTEP, always wishing she was more educated. After Clifford passed away unexpectedly in 1969, she returned to Iowa to raise their boys.

Margaret was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church in Manilla and the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed reading, working with her flowers and working as a nurse. Margaret deeply loved her family.
