Marge E. Heithoff

   Marguerite “Marge” Elizabeth, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Pille) Kisgen, was born November 7, 1920, at home in Templeton, Iowa.  She attended Sacred Heart School in Templeton through the 11th grade and then graduated from Carroll High School in 1937.  After graduation she attended AIB in Des Moines for one year and returned to Templeton. 


   On October 8, 1940, Marge was united in marriage with Linus Clayton “Chub” Heithoff at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton.  Two daughters were born to this union.  Marge worked as a homemaker and for J.M. McDonald’s for many years. In 1962 she began helping Chub at the family’s tavern, Chub’s Place in Manning. In 1981, they retired and moved from their apartment above the tavern to their home on Center Street in Manning.


  Marge was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Manning and the Altar Society.  In her spare time she enjoyed reading and word games. 


   Marge moved to The Cedars in Madrid in 2014 and then to Lakeside Village in Panora in June of 2016.  On Friday, March 1, 2019, Marge passed away at Lakeside Village at the age of 98 years, 3 months and 22 days.


  Marge was preceded in death by her parents; husband Chub Heithoff, two siblings at infancy; five brothers: Elmer Kisgen (Mabel), Orville Kisgen (Norma), Oswald Kisgen (Ruth), John Kisgen and Paul Kisgen (Kay); three sisters Bonnie Kisgen, Beatrice Martes (Eugene) and Evelyn Long (Wilbert); and two brothers-in-law Roy Mahan and Richard Nichols.


   Marge is survived by two daughters Linda and husband Marion Romitti of Madrid and Joan Justice of Minden, six grandsons, 18 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Betty Mahan of Carroll; Jeanne and husband Earl Neu of Turlock, CA, and Mary Nichols of Sun City, AZ; sister-in-law Iona “Toddy” Kisgen of Venice, FL; many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.


Marge’s family requests that memorial donations in her honor be made to Sacred Heart Parish in Manning
