Marilyn J. Jorgensen

Marilyn Jorgensen, Lee’s Summit, MO

Marilyn Jane Jorgensen passed away on December 30, 2017 at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, MO, at the age of 92.  She was born to parents Edward J. and Eleanor (Nellar) Normington in Milwaukee, WI, on October 18, 1925. Marilyn attended Iowa State University where she met Jerold (Jerry) Jorgensen. They were married in 1945 and moved to Forest City, IA, where he had his veterinary practice for 25 years, and here they raised their family. Marilyn later finished her bachelor’s degree in history and library science at Mankato State University. Upon retirement, they lived in Ames, IA, for 10 years, after which they moved to John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, MO.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband and is survived by her son, Jerry Jorgensen (Katharine) of Ramah, NM, and daughters, Mary Leichsenring (Dale) of Ankeny, IA, Eleanor Jorgensen (Jon Frega) of Prairie Village, KS, and Anne Nordaas (Arlyn) of Madrid, IA; grandsons, Aaron Rossow of Kansas City, MO, Derek Rossow of Ankeny, IA, Adam Becker of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Brad Beck of Lee’s Summit, MO; and great grandchildren, Layla and Logan Becker and Dane Rossow.
