Phyllis, daughter of Lawrence and Gertrude (Balk) Olerich, was born January 8, 1948, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Iowa. She grew up on a farm east of Breda and attended St. Bernard's in Breda, graduating in 1966. On June 24, 1967, Phyllis was united in marriage with Dwight Heue at Breda. Four children (Julie, David, Michael and Deb) were born to this marriage. The family made their home in Arcadia. Phyllis and Dwight divorced in 1991. On June 6, 1992, Phyllis was blessed with a second marriage, this time with Darrel Wiese in Manning.
Phyllis worked at General Electric for 8 years and then 2 years at New Hope Village. She then helped at the Carroll Area Childcare Center for 18 years before retiring.
Phyllis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manning. She liked flying, traveling, fishing, doing embroidery, reading and going to car shows with Darrel. She cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On Thursday, February 11, 2021, Phyllis passed away at Accura Healthcare in Manning. She was 73 years, 1 month and 3 days of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband's parents; a daughter Julie Wiese; eight siblings (one of which was a twin to Phyllis); and a sister-in-law Anna Marie Henkelman.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Darrel Wiese of Manning and their blended family of seven children: Julie Long of Mason City; David (Teresa) Heue of Lytton; Michael (Kalynne) Heue of Radcliffe; Deb Grote of Carroll; Donna Pulido of Carroll; Steven (Darlene) Wiese of Carroll; and Kristine Wolterman of Carroll; numerous grandchildren: Alysha, Taylor (Jason), Mckenzie (Nick), Miranda, Jacob, Austin, Riley, Rachel (Jeremy), Ashley (Steven), Justin (Jennifer), Dominick, Joe, Derrick, Nicole, Hope (Andrew), Noelle (Charlie) and Abby; six great-grandchildren Elsie, Abel, Kaleigh, Natalie, Lilly and Brian; and a sister Jean (Larry) Jons of Westside; Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
