Ronald James Gregerson

Ronald James, son of Clarence and Dorothy (Theulen) Gregerson, was born November 13, 1946 in Harlan, Iowa. He attended elementary school in Irwin and Rhodes and then graduated from Maxwell Community High School. Ronald earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Wayne State College. Ronald served in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969, at which time he received his honorable discharge at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. On April 4, 1968 Ronald was united in marriage with Virginia Benge in Defiance, IA. They made their home in West Point, NE for 31 years. He worked at IBP and served as a meat inspector for 15 years. He also worked at Omaha Steaks for five years. In July of 2000 they moved to Manilla, IA. Ronald was a member of the United Methodist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and painting. He had an extensive collection of bald eagle artwork and sculptures. His health began to fail in mid-2014, however he was able to remain at home in Manilla with the care of his wife and family. He died there on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the age of 68 years, three months, and 15 days. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and siblings: Dennis (Marilyn) Gregerson and Clarence Gregerson. Ronald is survived by his wife, Virginia Gregerson of Manilla; a son, David Gregerson (Stephanie Clark) of Atlanta, GA; a daughter, Dianne (Ron) Drueppel and grandson Seth, of Schuyler, NE; grandchildren Justin Gregerson, of Lincoln, NE, and Amanda Gregerson (fiancé Levi) of Pierce, NE; a brother, Larry Gregerson of Indianapolis, IN; and a host of other loving family and friends.
