Sharon Rae Christensen

October 9, 1950 — April 8, 2019

   Sharon Rae, daughter of Kjer and Loretta (Nielsen) Christensen, was born October 9, 1950 at Carroll, Iowa.  She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimballton.


   At the age of 10 Sharon moved to the state school in Glenwood.  She loved to visit with her family, especially if there was an ice cream treat involved.  Sharon always had a happy nature and gave the best hugs.  She moved to a group home in Council Bluffs in June of 2015.  She died at home in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Monday, April 8, 2019.  Sharon was 68 years, 5 months and 30 days of age.


   Sharon is preceded in death by her father Kjer Christensen; grandparents: Marius and Marie Christensen and Mike and Greta Nielsen.


   She is survived by her mother Loretta Christensen of Kimballton; sister Paulette and husband Rick Hansen of Audubon; nephews: Dr. Thomas Hansen and wife Meghan and their children Kylie and Kjer of Williamsburg; Daniel Hansen and wife Megan and their children Michael and Owen of Avoca; and Matthew Hansen and wife Hannah of Bondurant; other relatives and friends.
